MPlayer
Privacy Policy
We built MPlayer with a simple principle: your data stays on your device. This policy explains exactly what permissions we use, what data is processed, and how we protect your privacy.

At a Glance
1. Data Collected
- ◎Local media files you open (read in-app only, never copied or uploaded)
- ◎Screen recording video and audio captured by you (saved to your chosen location on-device)
- ◎Playback preferences and equalizer settings (stored locally in app preferences)
2. Permissions Used
Read/Write Storage
to read media files and save recordings, exports, and compressed videos
Microphone
to record system or microphone audio during screen recording
Camera
optional facecam overlay during screen recording
Foreground Service
to keep playback and recording active when the screen is off
Internet
optional, only for network streaming (SMB, FTP, DLNA, RTSP) when you manually configure a server
3. Media File Access
MPlayer reads media files solely to play them back. Files are never copied to a remote location or shared with any third party.
The file manager feature scans your device storage for media files and displays them inside the app. This scan result is cached locally and not shared externally.
4. Screen Recording & Audio
All screen recordings are saved directly to your device in the folder you select. No recording is uploaded or transmitted anywhere.
Microphone access is used only when you enable microphone audio in the screen recorder. The app does not record audio in the background at any other time.
5. Network Streaming
If you configure a network source (SMB share, FTP server, DLNA, or a streaming URL), MPlayer connects to that address to stream content. No connection is made unless you initiate it.
MPlayer does not connect to any external server operated by us for any purpose.
6. Contact
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or MPlayer, please reach out via the contact page. We respond to all enquiries.
