3. Local-Only Storage
All your reading logs, book library, audio notes, highlights, quotes, and vocabulary are stored in a local database on your device using Room (SQLite).
None of this data is synced to a cloud service, sent to our servers, or shared with third parties.
4. Audio Notes
Voice notes are recorded using the microphone only when you explicitly tap the record button. Audio files are saved to your device storage and are never uploaded.
Microphone access is not used in the background.
5. No Account Required
Readwise AI does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information such as name, email, or phone number.
Your reading data is entirely anonymous and private by design.
